By easily dismissing those we don’t understand, we can safely cocoon ourselves into a monochromatic world that offers no resistance and, therefore, no growth.
I refuse to live like that…because I am a little, what some would consider, crazy. I have idiosyncrasies that to some, okay most, seem odd or strange or foreign. But that doesn’t make me any less valid as a human.
That’s why certain TV shows, My Strange Addiction or even Hoarders, unnerve me because it’s the unusual, foreign behaviors of people put on display for entertainment, to be laughed at or put on displace like a circus freak show.
Shows like that just perpetuate stigma. Fuck stigma and the abstract-noun-horse it rode in on.
I’m one happy bitch.
I finally got to switching my living space around in the house. I’m finally upstairs in my own room, so I can close a door behind me and have some privacy. It’s also wonderful because it makes me feel a lot less like a freeloader (even though I’m not one).
I also found a check kicking around for $150 from my college, which has really helped with a lot of worries about various expenses.
Now I can work even when my housemate is home and not worry about him walking in on me.
I feel like Harry Potter leaving the closet under the stairs.

Dude I fully respect gay rights and all, but this is fucking wack. They should not be warping kids at such a young age. They don’t even know what they are doing.
Because we all know that 11 year old boys don’t understand what kissing is. Because it’s not like the media “warps” kids minds with images of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, or even Paris Hilton and Brad Pitt. Because we all know that as much as two kids talking about wanting equal marriage rights is really great, the fight for equality isn’t worth having a few angsty adults freaked out over the fact that two 11 year old boys decided that it might be nice to do something awesome for equal sexuality rights.
